SIM-board USB Input Module
available in a range of configurations (see below) to allow up to 128 switches, 16 encoders and 8 potentiometers and to be connected, all on one module, at the same time
switch support is provided for most types of switch hardware, including toggle, rotary, pushbutton, and micro
rotary encoder support is provided for both mechanical and 5-volt optical encoders, both detented and non-detented types, and for quarter-wave, half-wave and full-wave output forms (we recommend the use of quarter-wave encoders for the best results)
potentiometer support is provided for any common potentiometer value range, for both rotary and slider pots
Connecting your hardware...
Connection of your hardware items to the module nodes is performed by attaching crimped wires to the terminal pins, as shown in our
Support documents and in the interactive connection help in the
SIM-board Universal Controller software.
Connecting your modules...
Use a standard USB cable to connect this module to either your
SIM-board Master Module (if this module is to be your first function module in your chain) or to another function module already in your chain. Do NOT connect this module directly to your PC. Refer to the
Support documents for examples of how to make your
SIM-board chain. You will need as many USB cables as you have
SIM-board modules.
The module is supplied without connecting USB cable and without crimp connection hardware. Both are available for purchase separately on our shopping system.
Upgrade your module at a later date if you wish...
This module is available in a range of configurations, selectable below. All modules, except for the MAXI module, can be firmware upgraded by the user in the future, if desired, to support any number of switches, encoders and potentiometers as provided by any other Input Modules in the range. This upgrade requires payment of a fee, details of which are available on our shopping system as a separate item.
About our Top-Of-The-Range Module...
The
SIM-board USB MAXI Input Module is our top-of-the-range input module, allowing you maximum flexibility when deciding how many nodes you need for a certain area of your simulator. Using the
SIM-board Universal Controller software application, you can dynamically choose
ONE of the following configurations for this MAXI module at any time:
- 128 switches, 0 encoders, 8 potentiometers
- 112 switches, 8 encoders, 8 potentiometers
- 96 switches, 16 encoders, 8 potentiometers
All other modules listed below have the functionality as described, and is fixed unless you choose to upgrade the module at a later date.
Don't forget!
You must have a SIM-board Master Module in your chain before you can use any function module like this one. If you haven't got one, get one here.
If you need USB cables or crimp hardware, be sure to add these to your basket as well - choose the appropriate product from the menu on the left.
Please Note
All SIM-board modules are currently NOT compatible with Windows Vista operating system. You should use these modules only on a Windows XP (recommended) or Windows 2000 system.
