A perfect way to create 3- to 6-digit displays with the minimum of wiring or technical knowledge, for direct connection to our SIM-board 7-Segment Display Module.

The easy way of creating your 7-segment displays has arrived - use our easy segment holders! No more fiddly soldering or working out which pins go where - all you have to do is cut some wire!

These holders are specially designed to hold upto 6 of our white 7-segment display digits. Simply press-fit the digits into the holder sockets to create 3, 4, 5 or 6 digit long representations.

On the rear of the holder is an header pin socket able to accept direct insertion of solid-core wires, the other ends of which can be wired up to our SIM-board 7-Segment Display Module. Once you are happy with the layout of your display and the length of your wire connections, you can optionally secure your wires in the rear of the holder using hot-melt glue or other gel substance to hold the wires firmly in place (although this is not required).

Looking from the rear of the holder, in the direction of right to left of the view, the top row of connections represents the common negative (common-cathode) connection for digits 1 (edge-most) to digit 6, with the 2 remaining inner-most connections unused. The bottom row represents segment A (edge-most connection) to segment G plus the decimal point (DP) segment (the inner-most connection).

You simply cut your solid-core wires and insert the ends into this rear holder as described and route the wires back to your SIM-board for an easy way to make up your digit displays!

The holders can be cut to size between digits if required, to save on space. Cut using a hacksaw or similar device between digits 4, 5 or 6 to generate 3, 4 or 5 digit-long holders respectively. Holder can be rotated 180 degrees before fitting the segment digits if rear header connector is required to be at the bottom of the unit rather than the top.

(Supplied as shown in picture 1 above, empty and without white 7-segment display digits. Digits must be purchased separately. Suitable for use with our white 7-segment displays offered for sale on this website - other segment digit layouts from other suppliers may vary and may not be compatible.)
